Prayer Update!

Hello partners, pray-ers, & humans,

God is doing some tremendous things in Eagles' Wings Ministry.  We are so proud to be a part of this company of young men and women who are laying their lives down to serve a vision that is changing the nations.

For the first time, our ministry is launching four of our staff members into the nation of Israel to live for three months while they set up an Eagles' Wings Ministry base there.  One of the core purposes of our presence in that region will be to establish a "house of prayer" in which prayer will be offered up to the Lord 24/7 in the city of Jerusalem.  This would be a direct fulfillment of Isaiah 62 "I have posted watchmen on your walls O Jerusalem.  You who call on the name of the Lord give yourselves no rest and give him no rest until he establishes Jerusalem and makes her the praise of the Earth."  This marks the beginning of a new season for our ministry and for history itself.  Since the Temple Mount was recaptured in 1967, the Jewish people have been interceeding day and night from the Kotel/ Western Wall, but this marks the first time the Christian community will have established residual intercession before the throne of God.  Amos 9:11 says that "in that day I will restore David's fallen tabernacle..."  the tabernacle of 24/7 worship and intercession unto Adonai.

You can imagine the level of warfare and opposition this kind of endeavor sustains.  Pray for our team members:  Michael, Aaron, Tarrah, & (Peter?) as they raise finances and prepare to leave in late December.

Also keep our team in prayer this week as many of them are in Chicago hosting a second conference in two weeks.  They need strength, grace, and joy.  The body of Christ is being strengthen, encouraged, and equipped by their service.

Kris and I had a very good week of serving at our Buffalo conference.  We surrendered our bed to a distinguished guest/friend of ours who came to town for the week to visit us and catch the conference.  We spent the week on the air mattress in the living room.  Our furnace hasn't been fully fixed up for winter, so its been getting pretty chilly in our house at night time.

After resting on Sunday afternoon our team received a personal ministry time and word of encouragement from Bonnie & Mahesh Chavdah.  Then several of us consumated the evening with hotwings and potato fries from the Anchor Bar, where the original "buffalo wings/ hotwings"  were created.  Needless to say, our faces were stained orange and our bedroom had a fowl odor after that evening was finished.  It was a weekend that reminds you that you love to live.

Bless You All!

Brian

Prayer Update October 23rd

Prayer Warriors,

Kris and I have been been exceedingly blessed these last five weeks by our time spent in Pennsylvania. Both of us were provided opportunities to work while we were in the area. This has resulted in tremendous financial blessing.  We've been able to pay for some major expenses such as the purchasing of a hearing aid and paying for our car transmission.  We thank the Lord for your prayers and support for us during this time of crisis and mitigation.

Our time in Pennsylvania was also a time of intentionally meeting with our partners and developing new partner relationships.  We have made some wonderful connections with new people and feel like we've been able to expand our support base both in prayer and financially.  We thank every one of you for being special to us. We are truly excited to see how we can continue to stand with each of you in your personal journey as well how we can continue to be launched into ministry as a result of your support.

This Sunday I will be preaching at Hope of the Nations church in Reading Pennsylvania. Keep us in prayer as we minister to that congregation and continue to build a relationship that we believe God is establishing there. We are also planning to travel back to Buffalo to rejoin Eagles' Wings Ministry on Sunday or Monday.  Pray for a smooth transition back and for opportunities to bless our team members and leadership as we bring back a good report concerning the first "trial-run" for "partnership development".

We love you all.

Blessings!

Prayer Update: Sept 16th

Prayer Warriors,

some of you are aware that Kris and I have been going through a season of tremendous financial difficulty.  This has not been an easy test for us because of the pressure it puts on our commitments and our calling to Eagles' Wings.  We are convinced that, though the circumstances leading up to our present situation have resulted from a variety of factors and will, each in turn, be rectified, God himself has been the active agent involved in this testing process.

We have discerned and have resolved within ourselves that the Lord is hemming us into a narrow space, to test us and to call us to a higher level of faith.  Though this process is strenuous to bear, the outcome and product is a fuller release into the calling and destiny of God for our lives.  In scriptures when someone entered into their destiny they first went through seasons of preparation and successively arduous trials that purified and tempered their faith and character.  Vica-versa, when we go through situations as desperate and as difficult as we may bear, God is preparing to launch us into a new level of calling, but first has to prepare the way by softening the path and by extracting a sacrifice from our lives that is costly and pure. Kris and I find ourselves in just such a situation right now.

We ask for you prayers.  We have just made an additional two year commitment to Eagles' Wings that will end in December of 2010.  This was an act of faith, believing that God is continuing to call us here and will prove himself faithful in our situation and make a way for us where the path has grown difficult.  Please pray for the peace of God to reign in our hearts.  Pray for our circumstances to begin to align with the calling and provision of God.  Pray that our house would sell quickly and for a good price.  Pray that we could acquire resources and finances that will enable us to not only survive but also to meet the growing needs of our family and to make this missionary life more sustainable.  Pray for our parents that their hearts would be filled with peace; they carry us in their hearts and it is extremely difficult for them to watch us go through these trials.  As we return to Lancaster, PA the next six weeks to work jobs and raise support, pray that God would be softening people's hearts who could partner with us and with God's vision being carried out through Eagles' Wings.  Some of you may even want to begin considering how God may be prompting you to deeper your commitment with us in this global missionary endeavor.

We thank you all sincerely.  You are our partners in spreading the gospel.  Without you we would not be able to touch the nation of Israel, build up the body of Christ, or establish the next generation of Christ's disciples in the earth.

Love

Brian & Kris

Prayer Update: Sunday Aug 24th

Prayer Warriors,

this week our Eagles' Wings team is having a special ministry team in from Chicago.  They will be here till Wednesday and will be leading both group training and individual sessions on "inner healing".  Please keep our team in prayer as this will be a sensitive week of dealing with deep rooted wounds from the past. They've asked a small group of us to help facilitate the sessions with their team.  Kris and I will be helping them in this process.  Keep us in prayer for sensitivity, guidance, discernment, and compassion.

Pray that there would be spiritual protection for the team members while they deal with deep soul issues.  Pray that there would be a clear connection with the Holy Spirit during this time.  Pray for an effective flow of healing and displacement of old ways of thinking and feeling.  Pray for a heavenly perspective.

Thank you for your prayers the last two weeks.  I was able to finish the small roofing job in good time, even with a short staff.  Everything went very smoothly.

This coming week we will be taking a vacation down to Chincoteague with Kris' family.  We'll be leaving Buffalo Thursday after work and driving down to PA Thursday night and the rest of the way Friday morning.  Pray for quality family time and memories. Pray for relaxation and rejuvenation.

Please continue to keep our house in your prayers.  We've been trying to sell our house in Akron, PA for the last four weeks.

Love and Blessings,

Brian

Teaching Times with BLFlew!

Violence and Quickness of the Spirit

Where there is law there is warfare, for the law of the God is violent against sin and injustice.  If there is law in the land then there is a hand to keep it and a deputy to enforce it.  If there is law in our heart then there is a holocaust against the root of all things vile; the fire of the Spirit will relentlessly devour the wood, hay, and stubble of independent living.

If the violence of the heart does not subdue sin then we can be sure there will not be law in the land.  If the radius of warfare is not confined to our inner man then our neighbors and our citizens will eat the sour fruit of our wrongdoing and there will need to be officers and keepers of peace to replace the work of the Holy Spirit.  For where the heart fails to subdue sin it matures and blossoms into wickedness and it sullies our streets and intimidates our people.

God’s law and His Spirit will not ignore the smallest bit of yeast in our hearts, for “a little yeast works through the whole batch of dough.”  At the first Exodus God commanded the Israelite  community to rid their houses of the smallest bit of yeast so that they could go out to the desert and worship him in purity and quickness of heart.  We can not be weighed down by the puffiness of pride and independence.  He must flatten us out and remove our avarice until all that remains is the quickness and simplicity of our God.
